DepEd Marawi honors outstanding teachers, school administrators, retirees

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, January 2 (PIA) --- Outstanding teachers, school officials and administrators, employees, and retirees of the Department of Education (DepEd) City School Division were feted with a celebration on Sunday.

The event dubbed ‘Araw ng Parangal” held on December 29, 2013 at the Marawi City School Division Quadrangle was graced by Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Education Secretary Atty. Jamar M. Kulayan.

City School Division Superintendent Mona A. Macatanong said the main purpose of the occasion was to honor the remarkable deeds of teachers who serve as front liners in molding the youth to become better persons.

The celebration also gave due commendation to deserving school administrators, employees and 20 retirees of City School Division who have shown exemplary performance and leadership in exercising their duties and functions, she said.

Among those cited were Tocod C. Macapanton as outstanding education program supervisor; Sittie Nor T. Dipatuan as outstanding division area coordinator, Dr. Sadrodin M. Diron, Anisah S. Guro, Carema T. Abedin as outstanding district supervisors; Zorayda Dapit-Abato as outstanding secondary school principal; Auxilia Sabaduquia as outstanding kindergarten teacher; Sandra T. Tomawis as outstanding district alternative learning system coordinator; Sanauray Macud as outstanding mobile teacher; Aleem Aliasgar Mangorsi as outstanding teacher for Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education; Rohana M. Usman as outstanding division nurse; and Madki Macawadib as outstanding administrative personnel.

Nine outstanding elementary school principals, seven outstanding secondary school teachers, and nine outstanding elementary school teachers were also recognized.

Awarded as outstanding elementary school principals were Yasmin Dapit, Mokiin Hadji Isah, Solaica Abato, Mokiin Hadji Ali, Namraida Disomangcop, Majarlica Baragona, Sarandang Ibrahim, Pauli Batabor, and Saripa Ibrahim while the outstanding secondary school teachers were given to Noraya Alug, Salma Dimarun, Loyda Linsagan, Jamerah Salomabao, Yakima Balindong, Allanoden Barodi, and Halima Macabnar.

On the other hand, the outstanding elementary school teachers were awarded to Sorayda Sultan, Juanita Jalaran, Asnaira Macawadib, Noroniah Taher, Monera Usman, Noronisa Macud, Rasmia Maguindanao, Salam Macasasa, and Salimah Omar.

DepEd Marawi also recognized its partners for the support that they extended to the City School Division in providing quality education to children in the city.

These include Mindanao State University (MSU) System, MSU Lanao National College of Arts and Trade (LNCAT), MSU Integrated Science Education (ISED), Dansalan College Foundation Inc., Jamiatu Muslim Mindanao, Mindanao Islamic Computer College, Lake Lanao College Foundation, 103rd Infantry Brigade, and the ten city councilors, among others.
